STAFFORD SHOW - April 2007

I think you can say that the 2007 Stafford Classic Bike Show was a success. Here are a few facts and figures:-

Over £500 worth of Club regalia was sold

Karin signed up 15 new members as well as twisting numerous arms and getting 65 members to renew.

The sun shone!

So many people were queuing early on Saturday morning that the gates had to be opened early.

The members who manned the GSOC stand must have spoken to everybody at the show - at least it felt like it!!

The members bikes on the stand was of the usual high standard - prompting the much heard comments

"I had one of those when I was younger - wish I still had it now"

and

"I sold mine for £120 - how much are they worth now?"

The sun shone!

The most talked about bike on the stand was the M24 belonging to George Wander from Devon - this was Gold Star Number 2 from the factory and it was very original, if fact it was awarded "The most original bike in show" award - see photo.

Another talking point was Peter Muxlow's bike with the "new type" ignition system - loads of people were interested in how it worked and what improvements it made to starting, running etc.

Thanks to Ron & Anne for the new, blue Club T-shirts which really stood out and helped to identify Club members on the stand - see photo of the happy crew!
