Wolds Run 2008
The "WOLDS RUN"

The new Wolds Run organised by David Steele - a member from Lincoln was held on 3rd May and the Goldie Club was out in force with members from all over joining in. Of course, the weather was fine for our ride through the Lincolnshire countryside to join up with other groups of Goldie members at the East Kirkby Aviation Centre and by late morning the Goldies were lined up under the wings of "Just Jane" the Lancaster bomber - what a sight; it brought a lump to the throat. At one stage we counted over 20 Goldies in the arena.
Over 400 bikes (new and old) turned out to raise funds for the Notts & Lincs Air Ambulance Service. The bikes went off for a run round the Wolds with a break at the Green Man for refreshments before returning to the Aviation Centre in time to see the Lancaster start its engines and taxi up and down the runway - talk about photo opportunities!

Graham Inger (of Road Hammer fame) won an award in the pre 1960 class for his Goldie - and very nice it was too - crystal.
We must thank David for all his hard work in getting this revamped Wolds Run off the ground - We are sure that everyone enjoyed a wonderful day out and the organisation was spot-on. Roll on next year!
